Following on from Colin Norgate’s recent successful exhibition at the Contemporary Craft & Design Fair at RHS Wisley, we are looking forward to his forthcoming show for the Sussex Guild Craft in Focus exhibition, Parham House and Garden, 17th – 18th June – where he will be exhibiting his exquisitely turned wood products.
We first met Colin a few years ago through a mutual contact of the Petersfield Design Forum and have since collaborated with him on our collection of Ash Turned Finials and Holdbacks. Colin will be showcasing a few examples of our collaboration at Parham House, and we hope you will take the opportunity to visit his stand and see first hand the quality of his craftsmanship.
Colin is a member of The Surrey Guild of Craftsmen, The Sussex Guild and is a Registered Professional Turner (RPT) – The Worshipful Company of Turners and Holder of Guild Mark 229 (The Worshipful Company of Furniture makers).
Parham House and Garden
Situated within a 16th century deer park and with breath-taking views of the South Downs, Parham House is considered one of this country’s finest Elizabethan houses. Known for it’s spectacular Long Gallery which, at 160 feet long, is the third longest gallery in a private house in England, the property is a fine example of period interior architectural detailing, seen in the Jacobean waxed oak wainscoat panelling and magnificent tall mullioned windows.
The Sussex Guild Contemporary Craft Show is to be held within a large marquee in the Pleasure Grounds adjacent to the house. Parham House and Gardens are open to the public between 10. 30am and 5.00pm for both days of the show. Admission charges apply.
Ash Turned Finial & Holdback collection
Turned in Ash, our Sphere and Tear Drop Finials are truly accentuated by Colin’s distinct scrubbed, coloured and limed finish, manufactured exclusively for us in his Hampshire workshops. Here are some in production.
You can see some finished examples below from our collection recently displayed at The Contemporary Craft & Design Fair at RHS Wisley.
